“What happens when people open their hearts?"
"They get better.” ― Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

  • Silence, I discover, is something you can actually hear - Murakami

Wouldn’t it be great to address those thoughts and feelings, to access a bit of silence from intrusive thoughts? When we become aware of what is there we can find ourselves. Perhaps those same negative thoughts and behaviours have been with you for years? Maybe now you have the time, energy or desire to learn about yourself?

Maybe the idea of being in a room feels too restrictive. If face to face is too much of a focus directly on you then you’re not alone!

The first session is a walking consultation, a free trial where we can meet and explore what changes you seek and if therapy is for you? Walking Therapy is mostly taking place in Westonbirt Arboretum - click for details: Westonbirt Arboretum, Minchinhampton Common and Haresfield Beacon/Standish Woods in Stroud.

  • One foot in front of the other, repeat as often as necessary to finish - Murakami

So, we meet regularly, walking side-by-side, facing forward, braving all weathers, noting the differences each week, the changing seasons, different routes to our destination, covering the ground we can manage. A start and a finish.

To hold that space each week, taking time out for yourself, however you describe it, whatever you notice…everything about the walk is information. Would you like to try?

  • When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about ― Murakami

So what can we expect to happen? First of all, putting a ring around some time for you to think about yourself each week, to think and feel free of the usual home or work environments. That can be powerful in itself!

That space becomes yours to be seen, heard, known. From there I can help you gain insight and understanding. As you grow aware, your options for what to do may change and having options really helps people who are stuck in feelings and situations.
